Post-Firing Notes
1. Enter Firing Parameters
In the left-hand panel, enter the specifics for the firing:
- Max Temperature (°C): The peak temperature of the firing.
- Firing Rate (°C/hr): The speed of the final heating segment (default is 60°C/hr).
- Soak Time (minutes): How long the kiln will hold at the peak temperature.
- Cone Type: Choose between Self-Supporting or Large/Standard cones.
2. Calculate
Click the blue “Calculate Cone Set” button.
3. Review the Dashboard
The right side of the tool will instantly update with:
- The 3-Cone Pack: It will display the exact Guard, Target, and Witness cones needed for the firing, along with their specific temperature ratings.
- The Visual Chart: A graph will plot the cones, showing exactly where your target temperature falls relative to the cones’ bending points.
4. Save, Copy, or Print
Users can then use the buttons at the bottom of the chart to:
- Generate Report: Opens a clean, printable modal with all the firing details and space for notes.
- Copy Text: Copies a text summary of the cone pack to their clipboard.
- Save/Load (Left Panel): Users can save their settings as a file to their computer to load up again for their next firing.
